EAA 96 FLY-IN & MODEL EXPO, AUGUST 7, 2011

This event will engage the young and older in a day of flying no other area airport can offer. Nearly four hours of radio control (R/C) aircraft flying from beginning to giant scale (10’ wingspans) and jets will fill the skies in non-stop action.  Attendees will have an opportunity to fly one through a supervised training system.  Youngsters under 8 will build gliders and compete for “longest flight”.

During the day, R/C vendors will be present offering their products and services to assist interested attendees on how to get into the sport.  Aircraft owners and pilots will be available to share how they got into aviation.  Then, there is a full-scale landing contest where attendees can cheer on their favorite pilot in a spot landing and a best landing contest.

This is a family event and inexpensive in lean economic times.  Given the unique aspects, and desire of local families to participate, we anticipate a large crowd.
